There are so many inspiring artists out there!  I have been lucky enough to collaborate with some of them in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Here are some images and descriptions of the events and works.

Janet Fredericks and Orion Fredericks- My mother is one of the most inspiring people I know. The intrinsic harmony of our work together only reinforces my belief in our unlimited potential.

If you would like to provide a venue for our planed Luminous Bodies show, or any other show, please contact me.

Therm-Therm is a hand-full of gear-heads, techies, and artisans working in the Bay Area. We create performance fire sculpture and sculptural heaters for events and permanent installation. While the pictures we provide are intriguing, the experience of these pieces in person is ten-fold. We invite you to experience our work at one of our up-coming shows at www.Therm.biz.

Eccentric- Eccentric is a community of individuals working together to make their dreams possible. To learn more please visit www.firegarden.org

Aranji – There were two teams of people working on these shows. One focused on the event production and music– Orange Age. The other, comprised of Daniel Hopper, Lee Kobus, Orion Fredericks, and Amy Hoffman, focused on the art of transforming the environment. The first show was a display of works independently created by each of the people in the team. A collective yet independent approach at referencing light.

The second show was decided on by the availability of the space and the willingness of the people involved to communicate a group message that everyone would be involved in.
This is the theme we came up with. What is the driving force behind our culture and our beliefs? What is the message and whom is it coming from? Who is it for? Our generation’s parental guides have been sacrificed to mind-numbing visual stimulus convincing you to a single perspective of what your values are and the “truth” of your surroundings. This truth makes sense for only so long. That is until it is crushed by a reality you never saw coming and was trained to be ignorant about. In a flash of an eye, your world can change. Who do you listen to? And what do you believe and create for yourself?

The environment consisted of five podiums containing metaphorical cultural dioramas. These podiums were also surrounded by a visual message projected on the walls cutting through the bullshit and pointing out the truth of the matter. The first podium you saw entering the space was an egg precariously balanced on hundreds of sharp #2 pencils. Another podium contained a house of glass on Astroturf. A third pedestal was filled with healing herbs and other elements of nature. A fourth held a mutant rubber ducky physically deformed in its own toxic origin. The final podium contained a single sprout. At the stroke of midnight the visual projections drew to a climax and in a blink of an eye, four of the podiums drastically augmented by reality. The egg was crushed by the book “The Modern Family”; the house of glass demolished by fifteen pounds of ammunition rounds; the herbs smothered by asphalt; the rubber ducky was smashed by steel toy blocks spelling out “who, how, why”; and the fifth stood unchanged as a positive affirmation of the potential of humanity.
