There
are two styles of my fire sculpture. One is the heater style. These use
a very simple fuel system and are designed to be user friendly. The second
is the performance style. These pieces have fairly complicated electrical
and fuel systems and are designed to be able to be played like an instrument.
Each performance piece has a control panel that controls every aspect
of the pieces combustion/demeanor. Like other instruments I am teaching
myself how to play these sculptures and continuously understanding its
range and texture of voice. Likewise these pieces evolve two to three
times a year to enhance the particular voice the piece has expressed to
me and make it easier to play. |
